Good news for children, Balwadi Yojana 2023 has been launched by Chhattisgarh government. Balwadi scheme aims to provide pre primary education to children in the age group of 5 to 6 years. Read this article till the end to know complete details of बालवाड़ी योजना (kindergarten scheme).

The 1st phase of Balwadi Yojna has already been started on 5 September 2022 and 5000+ balwadis are opened for 2022-23 academic year. This scheme will encourage learning among children which would be helpful in their upcoming life in schools.

CG Balwadi Yojana 2023

Chhattisgarh government launched the Balwadi (kindergarten) scheme under the New Education Policy (NEP-2020) to provide pre-primary education to children in the age group of 5 to 6 years. Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the Balwadi scheme from his official residence on the occasion of Teachers Day.
Initially, as many as 5173 balwadis have been opened across the state in the current academic year. The new Balwadi Yojana scheme will be expanded further in a phased manner. The Balwadi Yojana will encourage learning in children and they will be prepared for school as well.

Teachers in Balwadi Scheme

Each balwadi will have the following teachers assigned with a specific task to ensure proper learning outcomes:-
  • Assistant teacher of the primary school concerned
  • An anganwadi assistant

Salary of Teachers in Balwadi Yojana

Every appointed assistant teacher will be provided an honorarium of Rs. 500 per month. Anganwadi assistants and teachers have been provided specialised training for teaching children through sports in an interesting way.

Need for Balwadi Scheme

While launching the Balwadi Yojana, CM Baghel said, "scientists have found in their research that 85% development of the human brain takes place in childhood hence these schools will help children to learn basic things at an early age".

CM Baghel also said that students in government schools will be taught in the local language Chhattisgarhi and tribal dialects once a week. He added "The move will not only promote the local language and dialects but will also enhance students" interest towards studies. The government is preparing study materials in Chhattisgarhi and local dialects of tribals from Surguja and Bastar regions.

In another announcement, the chief minister said that Sanskrit will be taught in Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Schools (SAGES) and computer education will be made compulsory in these institutions.
