Good news for students and their mothers, next installment under AP Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme 2023 released by the Andhra Pradesh government. In this scheme, the state govt. provides full fee reimbursement including tuition fees, exam fees to students for ITI, polytechnic, degree, engineering, medicine and other courses. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on 24 May 2023 released Rs. 703 crore under Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme to mothers of 9.95 lakh students, in Kovvuru in East Godavari district. While transferring this installment of Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme, CM said "education is the only way forward for SC, ST, BC and minorities to end poverty, discrimination and rise up on the upward social mobility ladder". 

Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme aims to help students from relatively low income backgrounds in getting higher education. Money under the scheme to be credited directly to the accounts of students mothers. Previously money used to transferred to owners of colleges. This scheme is immensely benefiting the students as well as their mothers who are now sending their children to schools.

AP Jagananna Vidya Deevena Installment Update 

An amount of Rs. 703 crore for January-March quarter, 2023 was transferred directly to the bank accounts of nearly 10 lakh beneficiaries on 24 May 2023. Jagananna Vidya Deevena is a scheme under which the total fees for students pursuing ITI, polytechnic, degree, engineering, medicine and other courses is reimbursed. Earlier on 19 March 2023, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs. 699 crore under for total fee reimbursement to eligible students studying a variety of courses.

"We took steps in the past fours years to invest in education to enable several families suffering from poverty for a long time to break those shackles with an engineer, doctor and a collector coming from those families with higher education,” said CM Jagan Mohan Reddy addressing a large gathering.

As many as 9.95 lakh students pursuing ITI, polytechnic, degree, engineering, medicine and other professional courses have been benefited from the Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme for the quarter Jan to March 2023. Under the scheme, the fee of students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, backward classes, minorities, Kapus, economically backward classes and persons with disabilities (PwD) categories has been reimbursed. These funds will be directly credited into the bank accounts of the students' mothers.

After disbursing the fees by clicking a button, the Chief Minister noted that the fate of the poor can be changed for better only through education. Reddy pointed out that Jagananna Vidya Devena scheme was introduced with the single aim of offering higher education to poor students. The southern state has already spent Rs 14,912 core on Jagananna Vidya Deevena, and Jagananna Vasathi Deevena, another scheme which offers boarding and lodging expenses to eligible students purusing degree, engineering, medicine and polytechnic courses.

"Today should be better than yesterday, tomorrow should be better than today and one should have the best future than a better tomorrow," the Chief Minister said. According to Reddy, only good education can guarantee the best future, leading to decent livelihood and life.

  • Jagananna Vidya Deevena 3rd installment date - 30 November 2021 (Rs 686 crore to 11.03 lakh students)

The amount under JVD scheme is paid directly to accounts of women whose children are pursuing higher education.

AP Jagananna Vidya Deevena 8th Installment Date

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on 19 March 2023 transfers 8th installment of Rs. 699 crore into bank accounts of 9.86 lakh mothers of students as part of October to December 2022 quarter total fee reimbursement under Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme. 

AP Jagananna Vidya Deevena 7th Installment Date

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on 30 November 2022 transfers 7th installment of Rs. 694 crore into bank accounts of 11.02 lakh mothers of students as part of July-September 2022 quarter total fee reimbursement under Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme. 

AP Jagananna Vidya Deevena 6th Installment Date

6th installment was earlier transferred on 11 August 2022 where CM deposited Rs. 693 crore into the bank accounts of 11.02 lakh mothers of students as part of April-June 2022 quarter total fee reimbursement under Jagananna Vidya Deevena.  

Jagananna Vidya Deevena How Much Amount 

To provide higher education to poor students, the state government is reimbursing fee regularly on quarterly basis. This is done by depositing Rs. 15,000 amount into the accounts of mothers of students studying ITI, polytechnic, degree, engineering, medicine and other courses.

Till 24/5/2023, AP state government has deposited Rs. 14,912 crore under Jaganna Vidya Deevana and Jagananna Vasathi Deevana schemes. This amount includes payment of arrears of Rs. 1,778 crore kept pending by previous AP government. AP state government has also been providing the financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 to students pursuing degree, engineering and medicine, Rs. 15,000 for polytechnic students, Rs. 10,000 for ITI students under Jagananna Vasathi Deevana scheme towards boarding and lodging expenses.
Under Jagananna Vidya Deevana, SC students, ST students, BC students, Kapu community students and minority students are getting benefit. The State government appealed to mothers of students to pay the concerned college fee within 10 days after the amount is credited into their account and if they fail to do so, the next installment will be paid directly to colleges.
