Several higher education courses including medical, engineering, law have been finalized to distribute laptops among students. Vision / Objective of Karnataka Free Laptop Yojana
Karnataka Free Laptop Distribution Scheme 2024 aims to promote digital learning among students. The state govt. will focus on encouraging students to pursue technical / higher education who are not able to do so due to financial crisis. Karnataka govt. is going to encourage meritorious students who excelled in their 12th class board exams.
Salient Features of Free Laptop Scheme in Karnataka
In Karnataka Free Laptop Scheme, govt. will provide incentives to all students. Students who are pursuing professional courses from reputable colleges and polytechnic institutes will be able to get free laptops benefit. Around 1.50 lakh state students who belong to ST and SC categories would be benefited from the Karnataka Free Laptop Scheme. This scheme will help students belonging to ST/SC category. Laptops of around Rs. 32,000 to Rs. 35,000 will be provided to the students. The state govt. is also considering to give direct cash benefits to students to enable them to purchase laptops of their own choice. As of now, it is just a proposal till date which is not being finalized.
