The main objective of 1 District 2 Product Scheme is to commercially promote local products in each district and generate self-employment opportunities for locals. Under Uttarakhand One District Two Product Scheme 2024, two products each will be developed in every district. The selected products would be developed as per the market demand with the help of modern technology through skill & design development and raw material under UK One District Two Product Scheme.

Launch of One District Two Products Scheme in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand One District Two Product Scheme is a brainchild of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. The 1 District 2 Products Scheme was launched through a government order issued on 25 October 2021. Local products from all 13 Uttarakhand districts will be identified and any two of them will be developed under One District Two Product scheme.

 

Benefits of Uttarakhand 1 District 2 Products Scheme

Uttarakhand 1 District 2 Products Scheme will give a boost to traditional and crafts industry. In addition to this, one district two products scheme will generate self-employment opportunities for local farmers and craftsmen. It will also give international recognition to local products of Uttarakhand.

List of Products under 1 District 2 Product Scheme

The products to be developed under Uttarakhand 1 District 2 Product Scheme includes the following:-

• Almora"s tweed and popular sweet made of roasted khoya and coated with white sugar balls called "bal mithai" in Almora
• Brass craft products, and millet biscuits of Bageshwar
• Handicraft products of Champawat
• Aromatic herbal items of Chamoli
• Bakery products and mushroom of Dehradun
• Jaggery and honey products of Haridwar
• Aipan and candle craft of Nainital
• Woolen products of Pithoragarh district
• Rajma of Munsyari
• Herbal and wooden products of Pauri Garhwal
• Temple artefacts of Rudraprayag
• Tehri noserings of Tehri Garhwal
• Apples of Uttarkashi 

These products along with some other local products would be identified for promotion under the Uttarakhand One District Two Product Scheme.
