About SHRESHTA Yojana 2024
Indian government has approved a new scheme named SHRESHTA (Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas) for the purpose of providing seats for the meritorious SC boys and girls in the best private residential schools in the country. Every year, it is expected that about (3000) students would be selected for admission in Class 9 and Class 11 under the scheme.Objectives of Shrestha Yojana
The objective of Shreshta Yojana are as follows:-
- To enhance the reach of the development initiative of the government.
- To fill the gap in service-deprived Scheduled Castes (SCs) dominant areas in the sector of education by collaborating with voluntary organizations.
- To provide an environment for socio-economic upliftment and overall development of the Scheduled Castes (SCs).
- To provide access to high-quality education to bright Scheduled Caste (SC) students so that they can explore future opportunities
Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) scheme will enable meritorious SC students to have a better future. Sreshta Yojana will aid in controlling dropout rates of students from classes 9 to 12.
Quality Residential Education under SRESHTA Yojana
The official statement for SRESTHA scheme has the content "This will enable bright SC students to have a better future by getting high quality education, aid in controlling dropout rates of SC students from class 9th to 12th".
Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry will implement SRESHTA Scheme. The National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS) will be an offline test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for selecting students for admission in Class 9 and 11. There is no fee for the examination.
MoSJE to Support Meritorious SC Students
In the next five years, ministry of social justice & empowerment (MoSJE) has decided to extend support to 24,800 meritorious SC students. The support for SRESHTA scheme involves approx. Rs. 300 crore for providing quality residential education to meritorious SC students of classes 9 to 12 in reputed private residential schools in aspirational districts identified by NITI Aayog.Shreshta Scheme Online Registration Form 2024
The Shreshta Scheme 2024 online registration form has not been started yet, so till then check the Shrestha scheme 2023 apply online process.
- First of all, visit official website at https://shreshta.nta.nic.in/
- Once you reach there, click at "Registration for Shreshta 2023" link.
- Then page to make Sreshtha scheme login will open.
- Next click "New Registration" tab and then "Click here to Proceed" tab.
- Then Shrestha Yojana online registration form 2023 will open.
- Enter date of birth, mobile number, email address and other details.
- Fill Shrestha Yojana application form, choose examination cities, upload photo, signature, income certificate.
- Submit the form and take a print-out of this form for any future reference.
