Gujarat govt. has allocated more funds for Ganga Swarupa Yojana 2024-25 to provide pension to widows. Under Ganga Swarupa Pension scheme, the state govt. will provide Rs. 1250 per month as pension to widow women. The name of Vidhva Sahay Yojana has now been changed to Ganga Swarup Economic Assistance Scheme (ગંગા સ્વરૂપા આર્થિક સહાય યોજના) or in short Ganga Swarupa Yojana. 

This widow pension scheme is an initiative of Gujarat govt. to show its sensitivity and transparency towards women. You can now check the pension amount and income eligibility criteria norms for Ganga Swaroop Beheno Ne Sahayata Yojana beneficiaries.

 

Ganga Swarup Economic Assistance Scheme in Gujarat Budget 2024-25

Finance Minister presented Gujarat Budget 2024-2025 on 2 February 2024. FM said that the state govt. has made a provision of Rs. 2,363 crore to provide financial assistance to widows under Ganga Swarup Economic Assistance Scheme.

Around 3.70 lakh widows, elderly and disabled women would be benefited from this pension scheme.

About Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Yojana 2024-25

The state govt's earlier "Vidhva Sahay Yojna" was renamed as "Ganga Swarupa Yojna" to lend respectability to the beneficiaries. The Gujarat govt. had raised the monthly pension amount from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1,250 since April 2019. The Ganga Swarupa Yojana will ensure the amount deposited in the 1st week of every month.

Only widows women can apply for this scheme.

Ganga Swaroop Yojana (Vidhva Sahay Yojana) Benefits

Every month a pension of Rs 1250 will be provided to all the beneficiary women. This amount would be transferred through direct benefit transfer (DBT) mode directly into bank accounts of widow women. Each beneficiary widow women will get this amount in the 1st week of every month.

Eligibility Criteria for Ganga Swarupa Pension Yojana

• For this scheme, your age must be between 18 years to 40 years.
• For this only widow women of Gujarat can apply.
• If a woman has remarried then she cannot apply for it.

In Gujarat State : To apply immediately in rural areas visit your Village Computer Entrepreneur (VCE) and in urban areas, visit your Mamlatdar Office.
