Common Fellowship Portal (fellowships.gov.in) Launch

Union Minister of Science and Technology has launched Common Fellowship Portal on 12th March 2024. It acts as a single interface between applicants and various fellowship schemes being run by the central government. The team of the Department of Biotechnology has developed the Common Fellowship Portal for the benefit of PhD and Post-doctoral students of the country.

"fellowships.gov.in portal will save the energy and time of aspiring students and startups, besides bringing ease of applying. It would enable a simplified and streamlined process from the submission of application form to the selection. The applicants can create their profile on the portal and use the same information to auto-fill different applications. This portal will help all applicants by reducing their time and energy by getting full information and submission of applications at a single place by click of a mouse", said the Minister.

Common Fellowship Portal ID Generation

Common fellowship portal bridges the information gap for students seeking details of different fellowship programs. It brings all the relevant information regarding eligibility and application at one place. The portal also facilitates the generation of a unique ID called as "Common Fellowship Portal (CFP) ID". This allows a more streamlined and efficient application process, enabling the candidates to apply for available fellowships from this common portal. fellowships.gov.in portal will serve to visualize the data analytics for Human Resource Development in science & technology. Here is the complete process for CFP ID Generation:-

• First of all, visit the Common Fellowship Portal at https://fellowships.gov.in/

• At the homepage, scroll over "CFPID" tab present on the top of the page and click at "Generate" link.
• Direct link - https://fellowships.gov.in/Cfpid/AadhaarInit
• Then the page to generate CFP ID will appear as shown below:-

• Enter your Aadhar number, then enter OTP and verify it. 
• Next fill in your details and finally, you can generate your CFP ID.

CFP ID Retrieval

Here is the complete process for retrieving CFP ID:-

• First of all, visit the Common Fellowship Portal at https://fellowships.gov.in/

• At the homepage, scroll over "CFPID" tab present on the top of the page and click at "Retrieve" link.
• Direct link - https://fellowships.gov.in/Cfpid/Retrieve
• Upon clicking the link, the page to retrieve CFP ID will appear as shown below:-

• Enter your aadhar number, date of birth, email ID, mobile number and click at "Know Your CFP ID" tab.
• Upon clicking the 'know your CFP ID' tab, you can retrieve your already generated CFP ID.
