About HP Mukhyamantri Bal Suposhan Yojana (MMBSY) 2024
State Government of Himachal Pradesh is launching ambitious scheme “Mukhya Mantri Bal Suposhan Yojana” aiming to emphasize upon 1,000-day window of child-birth, pre & post delivery support to mothers to reduce malnutrition among children. This scheme will touch the lives of more than 4lakh children in the age group of 6 months to 6 years, more than 5 lakhs children of 6 years to 10 years, more than 3 lakhs adolescent girls and 94000 pregnant & lactating mothers.Additional protein enriched food will be provided to children under 6 years , with special focus on malnourished children and high risk pregnant women in decentralized manner. To empower local women economically, the option of procurement of food items will be explored through Self Help Groups
The scheme not only targets the children, pregnant and lactating women, but also reaches out to community members, husbands and family members by involving them by virtue of incentive for the family of anemic pregnant women, service delivery & monitoring of services.
The scheme envisages that need of the hour today is to make it a people’s movement in letter and spirit, placing the beneficiaries at the heart of health & nutrition programmes and to encourage the community participation and make it Jan Andolan.

Pillars of Mukhya Mantri Bal Suposhan Yojana
HP Mukhyamantri Bal Suposhan Yojana will have 7 pillars:-
- Identification of 2 main diseases viz. Diarrhoea and Pneumonia in the growing stages of children and their early treatment.
- Continued monitoring and comprehensive review of underweight new-born infants and children.
- Give appropriate protein rich food for complete nutrition.
- Special initiatives to combat anaemia in children, expecting women and lactating mothers.
- Early identification and treatment of Hypertension and Anaemia in expecting women and lactating mothers.
- Proper treatment of undernourished children.
- Special focus on IEC activities and monitoring
Objectives of MMBSY Scheme 2024
- The scheme envisions significant improvement in nutritional status of mothers and children through multiple intensified interventions converging various stakeholders.
- To ensure service-delivery and interventions by use of technology, behavioral change through convergence.
- To lay down specific targets to be achieved across different monitoring parameters.
Mukhya Mantri Bal Suposhan Yojana Implementation
Mukhyamantri Bal Suposhan Yojana will be run through the joint efforts of the central and Himachal Pradesh state government. Departments of Women and Child Development, Health and Elementary Education will ensure necessary coordination to implement the MBSY scheme.It is important that staff of different departments have proper coordination and communication based on which, the appropriate indicators are identified. Interface Portability and Data Inter-operability will be ensured.
