Lek Ladki Yojana Application Form PDF is now available to download, direct link here. The state government firstly announced Lek Ladki scheme in the Maharashtra Budget 2023-24. Mostly girls are not able to pursue education due to financial constraint, so to make them economically empowered Lek Ladki scheme has been started. In this scheme, the state govt. will provide financial assistance to girls belonging to yellow / orange ration card holder families.

लेक लाडकी योजना के लिए पात्रता

• To avail Maharashtra Lek Ladki Yojana benefit, applicant must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra state.
• Only yellow and orange ration card holder families to get benefit.
• The amount under Lek Laadki Yojna would be transferred directly into bank account of beneficiaries.
• The girls will get benefit upto the age of 18 years.

Who will Benefit in Lek Ladki Scheme 2024

The benefit of Lek Ladki Yojana would be given to yellow/orange ration card holders (पीले और नारंगी राशन कार्ड धारकों). In Maharashtra state, people earning b/w Rs. 15000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per year would be given orange ration cards. Besides this, people earning Rs. 15,000 in urban areas would be given yellow ration cards. 

In total an assistance of 1,01,000 would be given to each beneficiary for proper upbringing of girl child. This money could be used by the families of the girls to educate them. There are total 2.56 crore families who are ration card holders. Out of these, around 62.60 lakh families are having yellow ration cards while 1.71 crore families have orange ration cards. 

Lek Ladki Yojana Assistance Amount

The following revised assistance amount (changed from as what was earlier announced in Maharashtra Budget 2023-24) would be given to Lek Ladki Scheme beneficiaries:-

• On Birth of Girl Child - Rs. 5000
• On admission of Girls in Schools - Rs. 6000 
• On admission in Class 6 - Rs. 7,000
• On admission in Class 9 - Rs. 8000
• On attaining the age of 18 years - Rs. 75000

Objective of Lek Ladki Scheme

Maharashtra govt. has given information that most girls discontinue their education due to lack of money. Following this, girls marriages are organized by their families at a very early age. In order to secure future of girls and to make them financially strong, Maharashtra govt. started Lek Ladki Yojana.

Lek Ladki Yojana in Maharashtra Budget 2023-24

Finance Minister presented Maharashtra Budget 2023-24 on 9 March 2023. Maharashtra govt. has made a big announcement regarding assistance to poor girls in budget speech. The following amount would be given under Lek Ladki Yojana as announced in Maharashtra Budget 2023-24:-

• After birth of child - Rs. 5000
• After Class 4 - Rs. 4000
• After Class 6 - Rs. 6000
• After Class 11 - Rs. 8000
• After attaining age of 18 years - Rs. 75000

The amount that was announced in Maharashtra Budget 2023-24 has been changed while launching the Lek Ladki Scheme (as mentioned above in the article).
