The Aikyashree is a West Bengal state scholarship scheme for minority students (Buddhists, Christians, Jains, Muslims, Parsis and Sikhs). Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme in West Bengal Budget 2024-25
On 8th February 2024, FM presented West Bengal Budget 2024-25. While presenting the Budget, Finance minister said "Under the Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme, more than 24 lakh scholarships have already been disbursed this year. Education loans to 1,290 meritorious students belonging to Minority Communities have been provided for pursuing Professional/Technical/Vocational courses".WB Aikyashree Scholarship 2023-24 Apply Online
- First of all, go to official website of West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation at https://www.wbmdfc.org/
- At homepage, click on "Aikyashree 2023-24 - Click Here" tab or simply https://wbmdfcscholarship.in/
- When you click the link, a new page will open where you will have to click "Student's Area" tab.
- Then student panel will open where you can click at "Fresh Application 2023-2024" link.
- Next the page to select the district of your institute will open.
- You can select your district to open the West Bengal Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme online application form.
- Fill the student information and click at "Submit & Proceed" button. Next fill the "Scheme Eligibility" section and click 'Submit and Proceed'. Check the relevant scholarship scheme and proceed. Also, check the relevant scholarship scheme.
- Click login/Students login and fill up information under Basic information, academic information and bank account information in that order;
- Review and press 'Verify and lock your application' after satisfying yourself with correctness of information
- Use the 'Print Application' option to acquire a hard copy of the application form and submit the same to the concerned educational institution with a photocopy of the bank passbook.

- When you click the link, a new page will open where you will have to click "Student's Area" tab.
- Then student panel will open where you can click at "Renew Your Application 2023-24" link.
- Next page to fill Aikyashree scholarship renewal application will open.
- Enter application ID, date of birth, district, captcha and click "Login" button to make student's renewal login.
Aikyashree Scholarship Status Check at WBMDFC Portal
- First of all, go to official website of West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation at https://www.wbmdfc.org/
- At homepage, click on "Aikyashree 2023-24 - Click Here" tab or simply https://wbmdfcscholarship.in/
- When you click the link, a new page will open where you will have to click "Track Your Application" tab.
- Then the WBMDFC scholarship status check page will open.
- You can select the year of registration, district and then track Aikyashree scholarship status by either "Application ID" or "Mobile Number".
- Finally click "Submit" button to checking Aikyashree scholarship scheme status.
Aikyashree Scholarship 2023-24 Notification PDF
Aikyashree scholarship scheme includes the following components:-
- Pre Matric (For classes I to X)
- Post Matric (For classes XI to Ph.D.)
- Merit Cum Means (For technical and professional courses)
- Other Scholarship schemes (SVMCM and TSP)
Important Instructions to Apply for Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme
- Only students domiciled in West Bengal are eligible to apply
- Unique ID of Bangla Shiksha is Mandatory for school-level students
- Students with at least 50% marks in the last exam are eligible to apply (except for Pre-Matric class I and TSP)
- Annual family income for the students for Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and TSP is upto Rs. 2 lakhs, and for MCM and SVMCM it is upto Rs. 2.5 lakhs
- Students must have their own operative bank account number. However, for Pre-Matric, students can apply through their parent's bank account also
- A student is eligible to apply for scholarship from any one Government source only
Aikyashree scholarship applicants of last year must apply for 2023-24 under renewal category (except Pre-matric) only.
New Features of Aikyashree Scholarship for Pre Matric (Classes II to X)
- Eligible students from Class 2 to Class 10 need not re-apply on line for Aikyashree Scholarship if they have already applied at Aikyashree Portal 2022-23 session
- Eligible students for renewal will get confirmation through SMS
- Pre-Matric students who will be admitted to Class 1 or new school, only need to apply on line (fresh) for the scholarship. Please visit www.wbmdfcscholarship.in
Last date for Aikyashree Scholarship 2023-24 (Fresh & Renewal) is 31 October 2023.
Description of Scholarships in Aikyashree Scheme
As we have mentioned above that the Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme includes various schemes meant for minorities, each one of which is described below:-
Pre Matric Scholarship
- DESCRIPTION: Scholarship is awarded to Minority students for pursuing studies from class I to X.
- ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
- Annual family income upto Rs. 2 Lakh.
- Minimum marks required is 50% in the last examination (exempted for class-I).
- SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM: Online application is received usually from August to October every year. The applicant is required to take a printout of the application and submit the same to respective institution with a copy of the Bank Pass Book.
Post Matric Scholarship
- DESCRIPTION: Scholarship is awarded to students for pursuing studies from class XI to Ph.D.
- ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
- Annual Family Income upto Rs. 2.0 lakh.
- Minimum marks required is 50% in the last examination.
- SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM: Online application is received usually from August to October every year. The applicant is required to take a printout of the application and submit the same to respective institution with a copy of the Bank Pass Book.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship
- DESCRIPTION: Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is awarded to the minority students for pursuing professional /technical courses at graduation and post-graduation levels in institutes located in WB and affiliated to any board/university under Govt. of West Bengal.
- ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
- The students must have got admission in a technical/ professional course.
- Must have secured at least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/Graduation Examination.
- Annual Family Income upto Rs.2.5 Lakh.
- Students residing in West Bengal but pursuing studies in the institutes outside West Bengal are not eligible (Except listed institutes).
- SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM: Receiving of online application will be co-terminus with that of West Bengal Higher Education department WBHED every year. The applicant is required to take a printout of the application and submit the same to respective institution with a copy of the Bank Pass Book.
Under Talent Support Program (TSP)
- DESCRIPTION: This stipend is awarded to Minority students who have passed their last final examination with less than 50% marks and are continuing studies in class XI onwards up to Ph.D. (except professional and technical courses).
- ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Annual Family Income upto Rs. 2.0 lakh.
- Students passing the last examination with less than 50% marks.
- SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM: Online application is received usually from August to October every year. The applicant is required to take a printout of the application and submit the same to respective institution with a copy of the Bank Pass Book.
Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme for Minorities
- DESCRIPTION: Scholarship is given to meritorious minority students for pursuing studies from class XI to Post-graduation level in regular courses including Diploma (Polytechnic), Diploma in Pharmacy, B.Ed, DLED, etc.
- ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal and has been continuing education in the recognized institutes situated in West Bengal.
- Student should have passed out in the current year from recognized institutions affiliated/accredited to the WBBSE/WBCHSE/WBBME/CBSE/ISC or university situated in the state of West Bengal.
- Annual Family Income must be within Rs.2.5 lakhs (Certificate to be issued by any State/Central Government Officer).
- Minimum marks required in the last Examination-60% for Higher Secondary to Graduation level, 53% for Post-graduation level & Honours subject at Graduation level and 55% for Graduation Level in case of engineering students.
- SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION: Receiving of online application will be co-terminus with that of West Bengal Higher Education department (WBHED) every year. SCHOLARSHIP BENEFIT Upto Rs. 60,000/-.
Salient Features of Scholarship/Stipend at a Glance
- Eligible students are to apply ONLINE at www.wbmdfcscholarship.in
- Student must be a domicile of West Bengal.
- Institute must be located in West Bengal.
- Students having AADHAAR linked bank account will get preference in directly crediting scholarship amount.
- One registration will be allowed with one ACTIVE BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER.
- Bank Account details (A/c Number, IFSC Code) submitted is correct and keep the account active (i.e. non-dormant) and functional to receive scholarship amount (i.e. Any condition imposed on accounts by bank, any limit on receiving credit in accounts etc., which may hamper scholarship credit in account should be complied with).
- Student should have obtained at least 50% marks in the LAST FINAL Examination for all scholarship except Talent Support stipend (less than 50% marks is required).
- Applicants in receipt of scholarship benefit last year and having an Application ID must apply under renewal category only.
- Students who are applying for the first time will have to submit application as FRESH candidate.
- One registration will be allowed with one mobile number.
- Distance Education applicants are not eligible to apply.
- A student is eligible for scholarship from any one government source only.
- Unique ID of Bangla Shikhsha ID is Mandatory for school level students
