Chhattisgarh Free Rice Scheme 2024 - Free Rice for 5 years to 67.92 L Ration Card Holders | छत्तीसगढ़ मुफ्त चावल योजना लॉन्च

Chhattisgarh Free Rice Scheme 2024 has been launched from 1 January 2024. Under this scheme, the state govt. will provide free rice through fair price shops (FPS) to 67.92 lakh ration card holders eligible under Antyodaya Anna Yojana. Newly elected CM of Chhattisgarh, Sh. Vishnu Deo Sai, announced that orders have been issued to all district collectors by the food and civil supplies department for proper implementation of this PM Modi's guarantee.

मुख्यमंत्री खाद्यान्न सहायता योजना in CG Budget 2024-25

9 फ़रवरी 2024 को वित्त मंत्री ने छत्तीसगढ़ बजट 2024-25 पेश किया जिसमे उन्होंने कहा कि:-

• प्रधानमंत्री जी द्वारा गरीब कल्याण योजना के तहत देश भर के 80 करोड़ हितग्राहियों के लिए निःशुल्क चावल वितरण की अवधि में 05 वर्ष की वृद्धि की गई है। राज्य शासन द्वारा भी मुख्यमंत्री खाद्यान्न सुरक्षा योजना के हितग्राहियों को आगामी 05 वर्ष तक निःशुल्क खाद्यान्न उपलब्ध कराने का निर्णय लिया गया है। मुख्यमंत्री खाद्यान्न सहायता योजना अंतर्गत 03 हजार 400 करोड़ का प्रावधान किया गया है।
• महिलाओं एवं बच्चों में कुपोषण से बचाव हेतु फोर्टिफाईड राईस के वितरण के लिए 209 करोड़ का प्रावधान किया गया है।
• शक्कर वितरण योजना अंतर्गत 150 करोड़, गुड़ वितरण हेतु 81 करोड़, अंत्योदय अन्न योजना अंतर्गत चना प्रदाय हेतु 400 करोड़ एवं रियायती दर पर आयोडाईज्ड नमक वितरण हेतु 139 करोड़ का प्रावधान किया गया है।
• उपभोक्ता कल्याण अंशदान (कार्पस) फण्ड योजना अंतर्गत 20 करोड़ का प्रावधान किया गया है।

What is Chhattisgarh Free Rice Scheme 2024?

CG state govt. will implement Chhattisgarh Free Rice Scheme from 1 Jan 2024 to 31 December 2028. The official statement said "Following the lines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious Antodaya scheme of distributing free rice monthly with a priority group carrying ration cards under National Food Security Act, Sai government has decided to implement the scheme for the next five years from January 2024 to December 2028 under Chhattisgarh Food and Nutrition Security Act. Instructions have been given to distribute free rice to ration card holders of priority, disabled, single-destitute category".

Beneficiaries of CG Free Rice Scheme 2024-2028

Food department officials said that the following will be the beneficiaries of Free Rice Scheme:- 

• More than 14.92 lakh ration card holders in Antyodaya category, 
• Over 52.46 lakh ration card holders in Priority category, 
• Around 37,708 ration card holders from single-destitute category, and 
• 15,351 disabled category ration card holders. 

Thus around 67.92 lakh people shall be eligible as beneficiaries for the Chhattisgarh free rice scheme which is slated to start from January 2024. A letter has been issued in this regard by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department for making arrangements for the distribution programme.

छत्तीसगढ़ मुफ्त चावल योजना Background 

Earlier, Raman Singh led BJP government in CG state had also provided rice at Rs. 1 to 37 lakh poor families under Antyodaya Scheme from April 2009 to mid 2018. Singh was fondly called "Chaur wale Baba" by people for this. Now after being reelected to power in Chhattisgarh, BJP govt. is keen on starting Free Rice Scheme from 1st Jan. 

Poor people will get free rice for next 5 years by the CG state government. Along with this, PMGKAY would also be implemented in Chhattisgarh to provide additional foodgrains to poor families.
