ABC ID Card Registration 2024 / Download through Digilocker

Process for ABC ID Card registration through Digilocker has been started by central government. You can now create your ABC ID and download ABC ID Card through Digilocker portal. It has student's academic data and is a storehouse of academic awards. Read this article till the end to know how to make digilocker ABC ID card registration, login and how to download this Academic Bank of Credits Identity card.  

As per National Education Policy 2020, the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) has been envisaged to facilitate the academic mobility of students with the freedom to study across the Higher Education Institutions in the country with an appropriate "credit transfer" mechanism from one programme to another, leading to attain a Degree/ Diploma/PG-diploma, etc.,

Digilocker ABC ID Card Registration / Download

• First of all, visit the official Digilocker portal at https://www.digilocker.gov.in/

• If new user, then Sign Up at Digilocker portal first. Click at "Sign In" tab present in the main menu to make digilocker gov in portal login.

• Enter mobile number and click at "Next" button. Then enter OTP to open Digilocker dashboard.

• Note that ABC ID creation service is available under the "Education & Learning" section in the name of 'Academic Bank of Credits' as shown below. Alternately, you can click at "Search Documents" tab and then type "Academic Bank of Credits". 

• Upon clicking it, you will get screen where you will get "ABC ID Card" creation option.

• Click at 'ABC ID Card' tab to open Digilocker ABC ID Card registration form 2024 as shown below:-

• Enter name as per aadhar card, date of birth, gender, select admission year, identity type, identity value, institution name and click at "Get Document" button.
• Then digilocker will fetch your ABC ID and it will appear on your dashboard page. 
• Click at "Download - PDF" link in front of ABC ID Card section on your dashboard as shown here.

• Then ABC ID Card will get downloaded on your screen. You can open it in PDF format.

• In this manner, you can create your digilocker ABC ID by filling registration form and downloading it in PDF format.

Note that ABC ID can be created and card can also downloaded through abc.gov.in official website.

Steps to Check Credits in ABC ID

• Login to DigiLocker - Student with DigiLocker Account can create ABC ID
• Search for Education - Education category shows Academic Bank of Credits service
• Create ABC ID - Select your University and click on Generate ABC ID
• Accumulate Credits - Students can check accumulated credits by loging into abc.gov.in 

How ABC ID Card Works

• Institution A - Credit gets Deposited
• ABC ID Card - Transfer of Credits
• Institution B - Redeem Credits

Credits awarded to a student for one program from an institution may be transferred / redeemed by another institution upon students consent. Credit transfer is the key to successful study mobility.
