Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme 2024 to Launch in Jharkhand

Higher and technical education department, Jharkhand proposes to implement Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme 2024 for girls. This yojana aims to improve enrolment of women students in technical education institutions. मानकी मुंडा छात्रवृति योजना in Jharkhand Budget 2024-25

27 फ़रवरी 2024 को वित्त मंत्री ने झारखण्ड बजट 2024-25 पेश किया। अपना बजट भाषण देते हुए वित्त मंत्री ने कहा कि "मान्यवर, उच्च शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में तकनीकी शिक्षा संस्थानों में छात्राओं के नामांकन में सुधार करने के उद्देश्य से राज्य सरकार ने राज्य के तकनीकी शिक्षण संस्थान में स्नातक और डिप्लोमा कार्यक्रमों में नामांकित छात्राओं को वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए मानकी मुंडा छात्रवृति योजना की पहल की है, जिसमें डिप्लोमा स्तर पर 15,000 (15 हजार) रुपये प्रतिवर्ष एवं डिग्री स्तर के लिए 30,000 (30 हजार) रुपये प्रतिवर्ष वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान की जायेगी। इसे वित्तीय वर्ष 2024-25 में लागू किया जायेगा।"

Manki Munda Women Scholarship Scheme Approved by Jharkhand Cabinet

In a significant decision, Jharkhand state cabinet headed by CM Champai Soren on 12 February 2024 approved the Manki Munda scholarship scheme. This scheme aims at encouraging female students to pursue technical education. The new scholarship scheme for women is to encourage their participation in higher technical studies after classes 10 and 12.

As of now, the male female ratio in the state in the field of technical education is 6:1. The govt. wants to encourage female students to take up technical studies for better prospects. Under the scheme, for pursuing diploma in technical studies after passing class 10, the govt. will provide an annual scholarship of Rs. 15000 per beneficiary. Similarly, for B.E and B.Tech, Rs. 30,000 will be given.

As per estimates, around 3,000 students in diploma and 1,200 for engineering will be benefited.  Also scholarship amount for successive year per beneficiary will depend on their performance in the first year. The beneficiary must score 50% pass marks in the first year without any backlogs to claim next year's scholarship.

About Jharkhand Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme 2024

Manki Munda Scholarship scheme 2024 would be initiated for providing financial assistance to students enrolled in under-graduate and diploma courses in technical higher education institutions of the state. Under this scheme, diploma students would get Rs. 15,000 per year and engineering students will get Rs. 30,000 per year provided their family income is not more than eight lakhs per year.

Manki Munda Scholarship Yojana Eligibility Criteria 

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Jharkhand state.
• This scheme is only applicable for girls, so Only female candidates shall make registration.
• Only those girls who are enrolled in UG and diploma courses in technical higher education institutions of Jharkhand would be eligible. 
• Family income of the girl applicant, from all sources, must not exceed Rs. 8 lakh per annum. 
• The beneficiary must score 50% pass marks in the first year without any backlogs to claim next year's scholarship.

Maanki Munda Scholarship Amount

• Diploma students will get Rs. 15,000 per annum.
• Engineering students will get Rs. 30,000 per annum.

Jharkhand Higher Education Merit Scholarship Scheme to Launch Soon

Another major initiative, Jharkhand Higher Education Merit Scholarship Scheme, would be launched soon. Under this scheme, the state govt. will provide monthly scholarship ranging from Rs. 2,000 per month to Rs. 3,000 per month to diploma and graduate students (technical and non-technical), post graduate students (non-technical) from state and private higher education institutions.

Other Proposals of Higher and Technical Education Department Jharkhand

Informing about other proposals of the Higher and technical education department, the secretary said that in order to improve research and patenting, Jharkhand Council on Science, Technology and Innovation has initiated a scheme to provide help between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 5 lakh to researchers and faculty members of the state.

He said that the department is also developing comprehensive award scheme in the fields of research, extraordinary contribution to society in higher education, environment protection and implementation of National Education Policy (NEP). He said that the detailed guidelines of the scheme are being prepared.
