Assam Punya Tirtha Yojana 2024-25 Apply Online, Eligibility, Documents

Assam government has launched Punya Tirtha Yojana on 12 February 2024. Under this Punya Tirth scheme, the state govt. will provide free travel facility to 25,000 devotees to Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. CG state residents who are medically fit will be eligible for a free pilgrimage visit under the scheme. Punya Tirtha Yojana in Assam Budget 2024-25

On 12 February 2024, Finance Minister presented Assam Budget 2024-25. While presenting the budget, FM said "Sir under our ongoing Punya Dham scheme, pilgrims are provided the opportunity to embark on spiritual journeys to sacred places such as Puri, Vrindavan, and Varanasi etc. We shall continue this year also. 
FM added "In addition, this year, I am announcing "Punya Tirtha Yojana" and we would facilitate pilgrimage of 25000 devotees to Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, with a budgetary provision of Rs. 25 crore".  

About Assam Punya Tirth Yojana 2024 

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said "भगवान श्री राम महाविष्णु के पूर्ण अवतार हैं। बालक राम के प्राण पप्रतिष्ठा से असम की जनता बेहद खुश है। इसीलिए आज के बजट में हमने घोषणा की है कि हर साल 25,000 श्रद्धालुओं की अयोध्या धाम की यात्रा का खर्च असम सरकार उठाएगी।" This visit to the newly constructed Ram Temple would be absolutely free of cost.

The free travel scheme comes in the backdrop of the recent launch of Shri Ram Lala Mandir in Ayodhya. Residents found medically fit, will be eligible for a free travel under the scheme. People with disabilties will need to be accompanied by a family member, it said. The state tourism board will implement Punya Tirtha Yojana, with the budget being provided by the tourism department.

Assam Punya Tirtha Yojana Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam state.
  • Along with senior citizens, youths above 18 years of age would be eligible.
  • Each applicant must be medically fit.
  • Applicant can take benefit of Punya Tirtha Yojana only once in their lifetime.
  • Government officials and employees cannot take part in Punya Tirath Scheme.
  • Even People with disabilties (PWDs) can visit Ram Temple in Ayodhya. However, such PwD applicants will need to be accompanied by a family member.

List of Documents Required for Punya Tirath Yojana

  • Aadhar Card
  • Voter ID Card / Ration Card / Other ID Proof
  • Certificate of Medical Fitness
  • Disability Certificate (in case applicant is physically handicapped)
  • Bank Account Passbook
  • Active Mobile Number

How to Apply Online for Punya Tirtha Yojana

  • First of all, visit the official website of Punya Tirtha Yojana.
  • On the homepage, click at "Apply" link.
  • Upon clicking the link, the Punya Tirath yojana online registration form will open.
  • Fill in the asked details accurately and upload necessary documents as mentioned above.
  • Review your filled in information in the application form through online mode.
  • Finally, click on the "Submit" button to send your application to the concerned authorities for approval.
Once approval of application is done, eligible residents will be selected and taken to pilgrimage visit for Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
