Central government is going to invite Khelo India University Games 2023 online registration form for athletes. KIUG is a national level multi-sport event held in India, where athletes from universities across the country compete in different sports disciplines. Khelo India University Games 2023 Edition in Uttar Pradesh

KIUG 1st edition was held at Bhubaneshwar, Odisha b/w 22 February and 1 March 2020 while 2nd edition was organised in Jain University Bengaluru, Karnataka b/w 24 April and 3 May 2022. After the successful conduct of first 2 editions, the central govt. is planning to start Khelo India University Games 3rd edition in the year 2023 in Uttar Pradesh state.

KIUG 3.0 will be organised by Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports along with Association of Indian Universities, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and National Sports Federation (NSFs). It is the largest university level sports competition in India based on the lines of Khelo India School Games and Khelo India Youth Games.

KIUG is intended to identify and train capable athletes in the age group of 18 to 25 years for the Olympics and the Asian Games. Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has taken this initiative of annual sports event of larger magnitude at University level.

Khelo India University Games 2020 Edition [KIUG 1.0]

The 2020 edition was held from 22 February 2020 to 1 March 2020. It included includes 211 events in 17 sports. The mega sport events were held at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar, JNL Indoor Stadium, SAI-Odisha Badminton Academy and SAI International Residential School in Cuttack.

More than 4000 athletes from 176 universities participated in the events. The number of medals include 206 Gold, 206 Silver and 286 Bronze. Fencing and Rugby were included for the first time in a Khelo India competition.

Panjab University finished first with 46 total medals that included 17 gold, 19 silver and 10 bronze medals. Savitribai Phule Pune University and Punjabi University were second and third with 37 and 33 total medals respectively. National record-holding sprinter, Dutee Chand participated representing KIIT and won 2 gold medals in 100m and 200m events. Siddhant Sejwal of Panjab University and Sadhvi Dhuri of Pune University were the top performers with five gold medals each.

KIUG 2021 Edition

The second edition of the Khelo India University games was supposed to be held in the year 2021 but was later postponed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. No games were organized as a part of Khelo India initiative under KIUG in the year 2021 as the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic was spreading at a fast pace across the country. So, there was NO Khelo India University Games in the year 2021.

Khelo India University Games 2022 Edition [KIUG 2.0]

KIUG 2.0 sporting competition was hosted by Bangalore's Jain University between 24 April to 3rd May 2022. Jain University's School of Engineering and Technology campus and The Sports School campus situated at Kanakapura Road were hosting majority of the events while some events are being hosted at different campuses of the university. However, the opening ceremony was held in Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru while the closing ceremony is to held in the global campus of Jain University.

More than 5000 athletes from over 170 institutes participated in the Khelo India University Games 2022 edition making it the biggest sporting event of that time. Jain University finished first with 32 total medals.

Launch of Khelo India Dashboard

Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports launched the new Khelo India Dashboard on 23 December 2022. It has all statistical data related to the Khelo India Scheme and the Khelo India events. Khelo India Dashboard will be updated on real-time and aims to be a unique one-stop platform through which every citizen of the country will have access to all the information regarding the various offerings of the Khelo India Scheme.

While launching Khelo India Dashboard, Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur said, "If you look at the work that the Indian Government has been doing, you will see that easy accessibility and transparency has always been given top priority, be it for ease of doing business, ease of living or the ease of compliance. Keeping the same thought in mind, the Khelo India Dashboard has been launched. This unique platform, will help every person, be it a common man or an athlete get all the information that they need with regard to the Khelo India Scheme and they will not have to visit multiple places to get any information. Information about play grounds with geotagging is available on this dashboard."

New dashboard.kheloindia.gov.in portal will help people in getting information regarding the Khelo India Scheme. It would also help people in accessing information regarding progress made regarding the development of sports infrastructures, Fit India & playfield development. The unique platform also has a database regarding Khelo India Centres (KICs), Khelo India Academies, SAI Training Centres & National Centre of Excellence (NCOEs) which in turn will help athletes find the closest centre where sports training is available in various disciplines. The centres are geotagged on the map of India to help any athlete pursuing a certain sport find the centre of their choice across India.

Khelo India University Games 3.0 [UP] Online Registration

Just like Khelo India School Games and Khelo India Youth Games registration, the central govt. will invite Khelo India University Games online application form at nsrs.kheloindia.gov.in. All the university level students will have to fill Khelo India University Games 2023 online registration form to participate in this event. It is expected that the online registrations for KIUG 3.0 will start in the start of February 2023 month. The central govt. may also invite KIUG online registration form at official website kheloindia.gov.in.

All the youths will get a platform to showcase their talent at national level games. Selected candidates will get training and a chance to represent India at the national level. Participating Athletes in Khelo India University Games Third Edition

The 3rd Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2023 in UP is expected to witness participation of more than 5,000 athletes from around 80-100 universities apart from technical and supporting staff. The central govt. aims to see Tri-colour Indian flag to fly high at the upcoming 2024 and 2028 Olympic games.

The central govt. is soon going to unveil Khelo India Univerity Games 3rd edition's logo and games jersey. KIUG games will provide a platform for athletes who tends to give up sports after school due to pressure of studies or lack of events to take part after age group / junior and sub-junior events. 

A multi-discipline University Games will be a great fixture in the annual sports calendar, and it will give new hope to those who want to excel in sports. The state govt. of UP state thanked the Government of India and SAI for taking up this initiative.

3rd Khelo India University Games 2023 Schedule / Venue

The 3rd edition of Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2023 is expected to be organized for 11 days. The games will be held in Uttar Pradesh which is the selected venue. Schedule is yet to be announced by the Central government. 

Athletes will get access to all ultra-modern sports facilities and training equivalent to any national level sports hostel or sports training centre at the university. In addition to this, athletes will also have access to hostel, transport and medical facilities alongwith campus security and gymnasium. Athletes can even explore the cultural heritage of UP and visit tourist destination after their games. The central govt. is going to make arrangements for sightseeing.

Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2023 Live Telecast

Central govt. will live telecast the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2023 event. This would be done through TV, digital streaming and other mediums. Doordarshan will be the official broadcaster of KIUG similar to KISG & KIYG. The govt. aims to create a space for sports in our daily life and will cover large audience through live telecast of games. Social media platforms and Youtube will also play a great role in reaching mass audience.
