The Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board was constituted on 03.01.2004 u/s 18 of the Building and Other Construction Workers (RE & CS) Act, 1996. It was re-constituted on dtd.14.01.2008, 02.08.2011, 17.12.2014 and 07.02.2020. The Labour Commissioner, Odisha is the Member Secretary as well as the Chief Executive Officer of the Board. The Board has its own fund in shape of the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Fund under rule 263 of the Orissa Building and Other Construction Workers' (RE & CS) Rules, 2002.

Odisha Construction Worker Registration / Login
- First of all, you can go to official website of Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board at nirmanshramik.odisha.gov.in
- On homepage, you can click "Construction Worker Login" to open Nirman Shramik login page.
- Click at "One Time Registration" link if you are a new user.
- Enter first name, surname, mobile number and click "Proceed" button to make Odisha Construction Worker registration.
- Then you can make construction worker login using username and OTP.

Who is a Construction Worker in Odisha
- Must be engaged as a 'building worker' in building or other construction work as defined U/s. 2(1)(d) of the Building & Other Construction Workers' (RE&CS) Act, 1996 and Notification No.5654 dated 27.06.2009 and No.5985 dated 28.07.2014 of the Labour & ESI Deptt., Govt. of Odisha for not less than 90 days during the preceding 12 months.
- Not engaged in any building or other construction work to which the provisions of the Factories Act, 1948 or the Mines Act, 1952 apply.
- Completed 18 years of age, but not completed 60 years of age.
- Not a member of any other Welfare Fund established under any law.
Nirman Shramik Odisha Gov In Portal Schemes List 2024
Labour department in Odisha aims to provide benefits to nirman shramiks through various schemes which are defined here:-
Grant of Marriage assistance for marriage of Self / Dependent girl child
Applicant can apply for their daughters marriage benefit or if the applicant is a women then they can apply for their own marriage. Capture the groom and bride date of birth. The Groom should be above 18 years. At the time of registration, if the women application have mentioned as married, then she is not eligible for applying marriage benefit for herself.
Odisha BOCW board shall extend an amount of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand) only towards marriage assistance to the unmarried beneficiary on her marriage or marriage of two unmarried girl children who are of above 18 years of age subject to a minimum of one year as registered beneficiary.
In case, both the spouses are registered beneficiaries, either of them will be eligible to get the benefit of marriage assistance. In case of self-marriage, the benefit can be availed by any beneficiary only once during her lifetime.
Grant of Funeral Expenses
The board shall extend an amount of Rs. 5,000 (Rupees Five thousand) as funeral assistance to the nominee / legal heir of the deceased beneficiary, in case of death of a registered beneficiary.
Death Benefit
Death Benefits can be applied in the event of death of a registered applicant Death benefit is given to the nominee. In case there are multiple nominees then the benefit is paid to all the nominees. Payment of death benefit shall be made available within a period of sixty days from the date of submission of death application.
In case of more than one legal heir, an affidavit shall be obtained from all legal heirs regarding who will receive the assistance on their behalf. In case of accidental death on the construction site, assistance will be extended to the nominee or legal heir as the case may be, of the deceased beneficiary irrespective of his place of death.
In case, the nominee is a minor, the amount of death benefit maybe sanctioned subject to the condition that the amount transferred shall not be withdrawn unless the nominee attains the age of major or in case of an urgent need or demand, the same may be withdrawn with due approval of the Member Secretary of the Board.
Grant of Maternity Benefit
The maternity benefit @ Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand) only per child shall be given to the female beneficiaries subject to a maximum of two children who are registered beneficiaries for a period of one year over and above the other benefits.
