After winning the assembly elections, Congress led Karnataka govt. was keen on starting new schemes and now it has started gruha lakshmi yojana. The main objective of कर्नाटक गृह लक्ष्मी योजना is to prepare a welfare state where women are empowered. This griha laxmi scheme was earlier announced by INC chief Mr. Rahul Gandhi while he was on a tour to Karnataka before assembly elections. He announced that state govt. will provide monthly allowance to all women head of households.

Gruha Lakshmi Scheme in Karnataka Budget 2024-25
On 16th Feb 2024, Finance Minister presented Karnataka Budget 2024-25. While presenting the budget, FM said "Gruha Lakshmi is an ambitious scheme promoting financial empowerment of women. Under this scheme, Rs. 2,000 is provided to woman head of the household. As per the KUTUMB software database, 1.33 crore women head of family having APL, BPL, AAY ration card are identified as eligible beneficiaries. As on end of January, 1.17 crore women have registered under the scheme. Rs.11,726 crore has been directly transferred to the account of beneficiaries. In the year 2024-25, Rs. 28,608 crore is provided for this scheme. This money will support women to take up various income generating activities. It will also provide them with financial support for day-to-day household expenditure".
FM added that "The implementation of Guarantee schemes has brought us admiration from the entire world. The positive economic and social impact of the Guarantee schemes will become more clear with time. Many countries and international agencies are studying and appreciating our work. However, these studies are not the only reason to validate my belief in the Guarantee schemes. The happiness on the face of the woman who bows her head before entering the bus; the prayers of millions of women who are visiting temples; the tears of joy in the face of the unemployed youth who got some relief due to Yuva Nidhi - these gestures have strengthened my faith in Guarantee Schemes. It is a matter of immense satisfaction to place the fruits of prosperity into the hands of its rightful owners, the people of the State".

About Rs. 2000 Gruha Lakshmi Yojana
While addressing a public gathering, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the Gruha Lakshmi yojana is now being implemented for women welfare. He stated that all women head of the families in the Karnataka state would get financial assistance of Rs. 2000 per month. Sh. Rahul Gandhi also announced to start a new Yuva Nidhi Scheme to provide unemployment allowance to youths and give 1 lakh employment opportunities to the youths of Karnataka. Along with new employment officers, 2.5 lakh old government posts will be filled again. Apart from this, Rahul Gandhi has also made promised to help the old women and poor families of Karnataka state.
