Himachal Pradesh government has announced HP Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Awas Yojana on 17 Feb 2024. Under the scheme, govt. will provide financial assistance of Rs. 3 lakh to people from Valmiki community for construction of houses. Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Awas Yojana in HP Budget 2024-25

On 17 February 2024, Finance Minister presented Himachal Pradesh Budget 2024-25. While presenting the budget, FM said "Speaker Sir, I announce to launch a new scheme 'Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Awas Yojana' to help the brothers of the Valmiki community for construction of houses. Under this, such sanitation workers of Valmiki community, whose annual income is less than Rs. 2.5 lakh and do not have their own house, will be given assistance of Rs. 3 lakh to build a house".

Objective of Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Aawas Yojana

Mukhyamantri Valmiki Kamgar Awas Yojana aims to provide housing assistance of Rs. 3 lakh to members of valmiki community whose annual income is less than Rs. 2.5 lakh per year. Thus the vision of housing for all would be fulfilled. The state govt. wants to ensure that even sanitation workers belonging to Valimiki caste are not deprived of proper housing facility. 

Eligibility Criteria for Maharishi Valmiki Kaamgar Aawas Yojana

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh
• Applicant must belong to Valmiki community.
• Income of the applicant must not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh per annum from all sources.
• He/She should not own a house in their own name in any part of the country.

How to Apply Online for Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Awas Yojana

• First of all, visit the official website of Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Awas Yojana.
• On the homepage, click at "Apply" link.
• Upon clicking the link, the MVKAY online registration form will open.
• Fill in the asked details accurately and upload necessary documents as mentioned above.
• Review your filled in information in the application form through online mode.
• Finally, click on the "Submit" button to send your application to the concerned authorities for approval.

Once approval of application is done, eligible applicants will be selected and then they will start getting housing assistance.
