About J&K Aasra Scheme 2024
Jammu and Kashmir govt. started implementation of new Aasra scheme to provide social security cover to widows, destitute, BPL families and bread winner of such families whose annual income is less than Rs. 75000/- The Scheme already been notified by the Cabinet vide decision No. 102/08/2015 dated:- 19.8.2015 to launch a comprehensive Social Security Scheme namely “Aasra” and vide govt. Order No. 150-F of 2015 dated:- 20.08.2015 under which the state would pay or reimburse premium for the following two insurances scheme.
a) PM Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)
b) PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)
Pradhanmantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) in Jammu and Kashmir
- Eligibility: People in the age group of 18 to 70 yrs with Bank account will be covered.
- Premium Amount: Rs. 20 per year (earlier Rs. 12/- per annum)
- Who are Eligible: Any person in the age group of 18 to 70 yrs having bank account and Aadhar No. linked to the Bank account are to be covered and who can give a simple form every year before Ist of June in order to joint the scheme. Name of the nominee to be given in the form.
- Payment Mode: The premium will be auto debited by the Bank from the subscribers account.
- Risk Coverage: For accidental death and full disability Rs. 2.00 lakh and for partial disability Rs. 1.00 lakh.
- Terms of Risk coverage: A person has to opt for the scheme every year he can also prefer a long term option of continuing in which case his account will be auto-debited every year by the bank.
- Who will implement the Scheme?: The PMSBY scheme will be offered by all public Sector General Insurance Companies and all other insures who are willing to join the scheme and tie-up with banks for this purpose.
- Nodal Agency: Social Welfare Department.
- The Deputy Commissioners being Administrative Head of the Districts will also held a key role to actualize the scheme and for the deeper penetration to include all the beneficiaries.
- The District Social Welfare Officers will submit the reports of publicity campaigns conducted in the areas and also enrolment of the beneficiaries on daily basis.

Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) in Jammu & Kashmir
- Implementing Agency: Social Welfare Department.
- Eligibility: a person available in the age group of 18 to 50 yrs and having a bank account can however continue to have the risk of life upto the age of 55 yrs subject to payment of premium.
- Premium Amount: Rs. 436 per annum (earlier Rs. 333 p.a), it will be auto debited in one instalment.
- Payment Mode: The payment of premium will be directly auto- debited by the bank from the subscribers account.
- Risk coverage: Rs. 2.00 lakh in case of death for any reason.

J&K Aasra Scheme Online Registration Form 2024
Let's check the process to fill J&K Aasra Scheme online registration form 2024:-
- First of all, go to Jammu and Kashmir official portal at https://www.jk.gov.in/jammukashmir/
- At homepage, scroll over "Services" section and click 'e-Services' link.
- Then the page showing department wise list of services will open.
- Go to the "Social Welfare Department" section and click plus icon in the front to open Social Welfare department services list.
- Hit at "Click Here to Apply" link in front of "Aasra Scheme".
- Then https://www.jk.gov.in/jkeservices/home link for login at J&K eservices portal will open.
- Click at Citizen Registration link. This will open Aasra Scheme online registration form 2024.
- You can enter citizen registration details, last resided / current address details, permanent address details, login ID, mobile phone number, additional details and click "Submit" button to fill J&K Aasra Scheme online application form 2024.
Important Points While Applying Online for JK Aasra Scheme
- Before applying the Service, User has to register using the Citizen Registration Link given on login Screen. Already Registered Citizen can avail the Service Using Login ID and Password generated after Citizen Registration.
- Applicant has to upload the Passport size scan photo (jpg image) in the clear background of size less than 50 kb.
- Please, note the user id and password entered by the applicant during registration for Login and availing the service.
- Please, select the role type Citizen while entered login credentials by the Applicant using Citizen Users ID and Password.
- After Login, Applicant has to click on the e-services tab in the left menu and thereafter click on the department to which he has to avail the service.(e.g. Scholarship schemes under Social Welfare Department or Domicile Service Using General Administration Dept.)
- Please, note the Citizen ID, Username and Password after successful registration of Citizen as it will be required at the time of availing the service

Eligibility Criteria for JK Aasra Scheme
- The beneficiary shall have to apply through an prescribed application form subject to the guidelines.
- All bread winners of families whose total annual income is less than Rs. 75000.
- Intending family must establish that he/she has no source of income quantified as per the prescribed income certificate mentioning that it is not exceeding Rs. 75,000 per annum.
- All widows and destitute residing in the state.
- The life/accident cover under the Aasra scheme will be paid to the prescribed nominee in case of death of the beneficiary as per guidelines outlined in scheme referred hereto.
