Under Nijashree scheme, people from lower income group having less than Rs. 15,000 income can apply for LIG flats. These LIG flats are 1 BHK flats with 378 sq.ft carpet area and priced at Rs. 7.82 lakh. Also people from middle income group having less than Rs. 30,000 income can apply online for MIG flats under WB Nijashree Prakalpa housing scheme. বাংলার আবাস যোজনা (BAY) এর মূল উদ্দেশ্য হল, - দরিদ্র সীমার নীচে বসবাসকারি ব্যক্তি যারা গৃহহীন বা কাঁচা অর্থাৎ মাটির বাড়িতে বসবাস করেন তাদের একটি পাকা বাড়ি নির্মাণের জন্য আর্থিক সুবিধা প্রদান করা, যাতে করে একজন দরিদ্র ব্যক্তি পাকা বাড়িতে বসবাস করার সুবিধা ও স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য লাভ করতে পারেন।Who are Beneficiaries of Bangla Awas Yojana

Installments under WB Bangla Awas Yojana
প্রতিটি উপভোক্তাকে তাদের নিজের বাড়ি নিজে প্রস্তুত করার জন্য বর্তমানে তিনটি কিস্তিতে ১,২০,০০০/- (এক লক্ষ কুড়ি হাজার) টাকা প্রদান করা হয়। প্রথম কিস্তিতে ৪৫,০০০/- (পঁয়তাল্লিশ হাজার) টাকা যার মাধ্যমে বাড়ির জানালা পর্যন্ত নির্মাণ, দ্বিতীয় কিস্তিতে ৪৫,০০০/- (পঁয়তাল্লিশ হাজার) যার দ্বারা বাড়ির লিন্টেল লেভেল পর্যন্ত নির্মাণ, তৃতীয় এবং সর্বশেষ কিস্তিতে ৩০,০০০/- (ত্রিশ হাজার) টাকা যার মাধ্যমে বাড়ির ছাদ ও জানালা, দরজা, প্লাস্টার সহ বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নির্মাণ কার্য সম্পন্ন করা হয়।

Disbursement of Funds in Bangla Awas Yojana
প্রতিটি কিস্তির অর্থ উপভোক্তার নিদিষ্ট ব্যাঙ্ক আযাকাউন্টে এফ.টি:ও. (Fund Transfer Order)-এর দ্বারা সরাসরি প্রদান করা হয়। প্রতিটি কিস্তির কাজ তদারকির জন্য সরকারী আদেশনামা অনুযায়ী পঞ্চায়েতের আধিকারিকগণ প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করে থাকেন। বাড়ির নির্মাণ কার্য শেষ হওয়ার পর উপভোক্তার নাম ও আর্থিক বৎসর উল্লেখ করে প্রকল্পটির নাম বাড়িটির দেওয়ালে লিপিবদ্ধ করা হয়।
Progress of Bangla Awas Yojana
বাংলার আবাস যোজনাকে সাফল্যের সাথে রূপায়ন করে চলেছে। এই জেলায় ২১৫ টি গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতে স্থায়ী অপেক্ষমান তালিকা (পারমানেন্ট ওয়েট লিষ্ট) প্রস্তুত করা হয়েছে এবং এই তালিকা থেকে রাজ্য দ্বারা নির্ধারিত কোটা অনুসারে ২০১৬-১৭ আর্থিক বৎসরে ২৯,৩১৪ জন ও ২০১৭-১৮ আর্থিক বসের ৩২,৪৯০ জন ওবং ২০১৮-১৯ আর্থিক বৎসরে ৫০,১৮৫ জন অর্থাৎ উক্ত প্রকল্পটি প্রারস্তিক লগ্ন থেকে এখনো পর্যন্ত ১,১১,৯৮৯ জন উপভোক্তা নিজ বাড়ি নির্মানের জন্য আর্থিক সুবিধা প্রদান করা হয়েছে, যার মধ্যে এখনো পর্যন্ত ১০৫,৩৬৬ জন (৯৪ শতাংশ) উপভোক্তা নিজ বাড়ি নির্মানের কার্য শেষ করে পাকা বাড়িতে বসবাস করার সুবিধা ও স্বাচ্ছন্য উপভোগ করছেন এবং বাকি ৬,৬২৩ জন (৬ শতাংশ) উপভোক্তারাও তাদের বাড়ি নির্মানের কাজ প্রায় শেষ করে ফেলেছেন। এম.জি.এন.আর.জি.এস প্রকল্পের তরফ থেকে মোট ৯০ দিনের মঞ্জুরী প্রদান করা হয়।
Hence, the West Bengal government aims to provide housing benefits to poor people in rural areas through the implementation of Bangla Awas Yojana.
WB Bangla Awas Yojana List 2024
The Bangla Awas Yojana was initiated from 2016-2017 financial year and since then it is successfully running in all the districts of the state. A Permanent wait list (PWL) was prepared from Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011 data. The beneficiaries of the programme are selected from the PWL for PMAY Gramin which is oftenly called as Bangla Awas Yojana List. This list will be similar to PMAY-G list (House progress against target financial year) for West Bengal. The whole implementation process and selection of beneficiary is done through an online software-based MIS system named AwaasSoft.
WB Rural Housing Scheme (PMAY Gramin in West Bengal)
This scheme with an objective of addressing housing needs in the rural areas aims at providing a pucca house, with basic amenities, to all houseless households and households living in kutcha and dilapidated house, by 2024. The unit assistance for each beneficiary is 1.2 lakhs and 1.3 lakhs for difficult areas. There is provision of 90/95 person days of unskilled labour wage under MGNREGA for construction of house, over and above the unit assistance. The unit cost (house) assistance is shared between central and state governments in the ratio of 60:40.
The unit assistance (fund) is being disbursed to the beneficiaries in 3 instalments i.e 1st installment: Rs. 60,000/- 2nd installment: Rs. 50,000/- and 3rd installment: Rs. 10,000/- and for IAP districts /difficulties areas it is Rs. 60,000/- 2nd instalment: Rs. 60,000/- and 3rd instalment: Rs. 10,000/-.
Nijashree Housing Scheme in West Bengal Budget 2024-25
Nijashree Housing scheme is another major housing scheme in West Bengal which is running alongside Bangla Awas Yojana. On 8th Feb 2024, Finance Minister presented West Bengal Budget 2024-25. While delivering the budget speech, FM said "Nijashree Housing Scheme is aimed at providing
housing among the families belonging to Lower Income
Group (LIG) and Middle Income Group (MIG) categories.
Construction works have been completed for 112 flats
and works are going on at 8 other sites".
