Urban Svamitva Scheme in Haryana Budget 2024-25
On 23rd Feb, Finance Minister presented Haryana Budget 2024-25. While delivering the budget speech, FM said "On the lines of the PM-SVAMITVA scheme, I propose to
launch an Urban-SVAMITVA scheme to provide property
certificates to owners of properties in abadi areas of erstwhile
villages that have been included in Municipalities. This will
enable owners of properties to enjoy similar benefits as owners
of properties in abadi areas of Gram Panchayats under
PM Svamitva. This policy shall be notified by the Urban Local
Bodies Department in the next 15 days".
About Haryana Urban Svamitva Yojana 2024
Urban Svamitva Scheme is a reformative step towards establishment of clear ownership of property in urban areas. This would be done by mapping of land using drone technology and providing "Record of Rights" to urban household owners with issuance of legal ownership cards (Property cards/Title deeds) to the property owners.Objectives of Urban Svamitva Scheme in Haryana
The urban svamitva scheme seeks to achieve the following objectives:-
- Creation of accurate land records for urban planning and reduce property related disputes.
- To bring financial stability to the citizens in urban India by enabling them to use their property as a financial asset for taking loans and other financial benefits.
- Determination of property tax, which would add to the State exchequer.
- Creation of survey infrastructure and GIS maps that can be leveraged by any department for their use.
- To support in preparation of better-quality ULB Development Plan by making use of GIS maps.
