Jagananna Thodu Payment Status for Beneficiaries

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs. 560.73 crore under Jagananna Thodu benefiting 5,10,412 small and marginal street vendors and artisans with interest-free bank loans. The amount, released towards the first tranche for the fourth consecutive year, includes interest-free bank loans amounting to Rs. 549.70 crore with the balance of Rs. 11.03 crore being paid towards interest subvention.

It would be directly credited into their bank accounts. The beneficiaries include 4,54,000 petty traders who have availed repeat loans. Releasing the amount virtually with the click of a button at the Camp Office here on 18th July 2023, the Chief Minister said that the AP is the only State which has been implementing the scheme to help lakhs of petty traders and artisans. The number of loan beneficiaries is higher in the State than the rest of the country, he remarked.

Maximum Loan under Jaganana Thodu Scheme

The petty traders, who have been repaying the loans promptly and taking repeat loans, can get an annual increment of Rs. 1000 on the loan amount of Rs. 10,000 can avail a maximum loan of Rs. 13,000 under the scheme, he said. Designed to help petty traders and traditional artisans who depend on loan sharks for daily working capital, the scheme has so far benefitted 15,87,492 petty traders and artisans including 13,29,011 beneficiaries who have taken loans multiple times.

The government has so far spent Rs. 2955.79 crore under the scheme which includes Rs. 74.69 crore paid towards interest. The Chief Minister observed that the petty traders are also rendering great social service to people and helping others by selling vegetables, fruits and food products in push carts, baskets, on motorcycles and auto rickshaws on streets.

Artisans who work on brass items and make Bobbili Veena, Kondapally and Etikoppaka toys, Kalankari and lace items and puppets have also been receiving loans under the scheme, he said. “I had seen their troubles during my padayatra and the idea to launch the scheme was born to save them from loan sharks. The interesting part of it is that 80 per cent of the beneficiaries are women and again, majority of them belong to SCs, STs, BCs and Minorities,” he said.

Petty traders and artisans who have not yet availed the scheme so far can enroll into it by calling toll free number 1902 or approaching volunteers and village and ward secretariat staff, he said. He thanked the bankers, MEPMA officials and village and ward secretariats for running the scheme successfully.

The new Jagananna Thodu Scheme 2023 is a very innovative and appreciable scheme started by the CM and his concerned officials running the Andhra Pradesh government. Several benefits are provided to street vendors of the AP state after the launch of scheme by CM Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy. In this scheme, the state govt. will provide Rs. 10,000 as working capital loan to all eligible street vendors.

Interest Reimbursement in Jagananna Thodu Scheme

Jagananna Thodu scheme is launched to ensure that small street vendors who do not get loans from the bank now get it easily. Earlier even if street vendors were able to get loans then they have to pay a heavy rate of interest which is now interest free. Under Jagan Anna Thodu Scheme, bank will provide loans to the beneficiaries and the government will pay the interest on behalf of the beneficiary by reimbursing the interest into the bank account of beneficiaries.

Jagananna Thodu ID Cards - New Update

AP state government will provide ID cards and Rs. 10,000 interest free loans to beneficiaries of Jagananna Thodu Scheme. Street vendors who have taken loans under YSR Thodu scheme will not have to pay any interest amount as govt. of Andhra will bear this expenditure and pay interest on street vendor's behalf. Chief Minister YS Jagan has given directions to the officials to complete the linking procedure of beneficiaries with the bank as soon as possible.

Objectives of Jagananna Thodu Scheme 2023

AP Jagananna Thodu scheme is for beneficiaries who belongs to only those States / UTs which have notified Rules and Scheme under Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014. The entire YSR Thodu application procedure is available at the official website which is started by the concerned authorities at the launching party of the scheme. AP Jagananna Thodu Scheme Eligibility Criteria

Here is the eligibility criteria which must be followed by the beneficiaries to become eligible and apply for AP Jagananna Thodu Scheme:-
  • Vegetables, fruits, ready-to-eat street food, tea, pakodas, bread, eggs, textile, artisan products, books/ stationery sellers are eligible under the AP Jagananna Thodu Scheme.
  • Barbershops, cobblers, pan shops, laundry services are included in the street vendors category and can get bank loan of Rs. 10,000.
  • The age of the small trader should be at-least 18 years.
  • The trader should have a family income (from all sources) of Rs. 10,000 in villages and Rs. 12,000 in towns.
  • People carrying and selling goods on the streets are also eligible for Rs. 10000 loan.
  • People who sell groceries at footpaths, carts on the streets, various items on bicycles, vegetables, and fruits are eligible.
  • Detailed eligible lists will place on the notice boards of the village and ward secretariats and a social audit will be conducted.
  • People having permanent or temporary shops in villages or towns in a space of 5 feet long, 5 feet wide, or less are eligible for the scheme.
  • People who sell groceries at footpaths, carts on the streets, various items on bicycles, vegetables, and fruits are eligible.
  • All those people who are doing business on carts on the roadside, on the sidewalks, in public and private places are eligible
  • People who run tiffin centers along the road are eligible.

Launch of Jagananna Thodu Scheme 2nd Phase (Earlier Update)

AP Jagananna Thodu Scheme 2nd phase was launched by Andhra Pradesh government on 8 June 2021. Andhra Pradesh state govt. provides Identity Cards (ID Card) as well as Rs. 10,000 as working capital loan to street vendors. Interested street vendors can apply online for AP Jagananna Thodu Scheme and then make login, check eligibility criteria and beneficiary status. The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched Jagananna Thodu Scheme to provide loans to the street vendors. Interest-free loan up to Rs 10000 is provided to street vendors. On 8 June 2021, CM released 370 crores under the second phase of this scheme from his Tadepalli camp office. Around 3.75 lakh beneficiaries will benefit from phase 2 of this scheme. Under the first phase of the scheme Rs. 535 crores were transferred into the bank account of 5.35 lakh beneficiaries. In both phases of the Jagananna Thodu scheme, Rs 905 crore has been transferred into the bank account of 9.05 lakh beneficiaries.

Jagananna Thodu Scheme 1st Phase Launch (Earlier Update)

Earlier on 25 November 2020, CM of Andhra Pradesh YSR Jagan Mohan launched Jagananna Thodu Scheme to provide loans to small vendors. The loan amount of Rs. 10000 was given to the street vendors will be completely interest-free for the beneficiaries. More than 10 lakh vendors applied to get benefits under Thodu scheme. The Government of Andhra Pradesh released Rs. 1000 crore to be directly credited to the bank account of the beneficiaries. The interest amount of the loan will pay through the government of Andhra Pradesh by reimbursing it to the beneficiary's account. 

AP govt has also started a new portal so that corruption threat could be eliminated. Beneficiaries will get QR based small ID cards and Thodu scheme will be monitored by SERP, MEPMA officials. The volunteers of the village/ward secretariat have already identified 10,05,003 beneficiaries in the survey. The list of beneficiaries is displayed at secretariats for the purpose of social audit. The government has reimbursed interest of Rs. 29.42 crore under phase 1 and Rs 20.35 crore under phase 2 of this scheme. A total of Rs. 49.77 crore interest has been reimbursed into the bank account of the beneficiaries in both phases.

PM Svanidhi Like 10K Loan Application Procedure of Jagananna Thodu Scheme

People can now easily fill AP Jagananna Thodu Scheme online application / registration form at the official website at https://pmsvanidhi.mohua.gov.in/. Here you can apply for 10k loan. There is separate procedure for applying for loan for the applicants of Assam and Meghalaya state. In order to apply online for the scheme, applicant will have to follow the below mentioned procedure.
  • You can now make AP Jagananna Thodu Scheme login by entering the mobile number and hit at the “Request OTP”. Next enter the OTP received on your mobile number and click at "Verify OTP" button.
  • Next you can check vendor category by specifying whether you have aadhar card or not on the opened page.
  • When you specify whether you have aadhar card or not, the vendor categories with eligibility will open in which you have to select one.
  • Then enter Vendor details, next fill application form.
  • You will then have to upload supporting documents.
  • In the end submit the application by clicking on "Submit" button.
