Old Age Pension in Bihar Budget 2024-25
On 13 Feb 2024, Finance Minister presented Bihar Budget 2024-25 in which FM said "राज्य के विभिन्न लाभुक वर्गों यथा-वृद्धजनों, विधवाओं, दिव्यांगजनों एवं अन्य असहाय व्यक्तियों हेतु छः प्रकार की पेंशन योजनाएं संचालित हैं। वर्ष 2023-24 में सभी सामाजिक सुरक्षा पेंशन योजनाओं के लिए कुल प्रावधानित 4079.90 करोड़ रुपये के विरूद्ध अबतक कुल 2490.99 करोड़ रुपये का व्यय किया गया है।"
Bihar Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Pension Yojna Registration 2024
Social Welfare department of Bihar invites Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Pension Yojna online application for at www.sspmis.bihar.gov.in portal. Senior citizens above the age of 60 years to 79 years will get Rs. 400 per month as pension while above 80 years will get Rs. 500 p.m as pension after registering for MVPY Scheme. Citizens must apply by filling the Bihar Mukhyamantri Vridha Pension Yojana online registration form 2024 at the official SSPMIS website.Elder citizens belonging to any caste, creed or religion would be eligible for Mukhyamantri Vriddhjan Pension Yojana (MVPY). People who are not getting pension under any of the previous running state or central govt. schemes would be eligible for MVPY Scheme. In all other states, old age pension is only given to SC / ST people, BPL families, Persons with disabilities or widow women. But in Bihar this criteria has been removed and all senior citizens can apply for Vridha pension. Senior citizens above the age of 60 years can now fill the Mukhyamantri Old Age Pension Scheme online application form at the official website.

Here is the process which a senior citizen must follow to apply online for CM Old Age Pension Scheme:-
- First of all, interested citizens can visit official Social Security Pension Management Information System website at https://www.sspmis.bihar.gov.in/
- At homepage, elderly citizens can click at "Register for MVPY" link which is present in header.
- You can also click at direct link - https://www.sspmis.bihar.gov.in/CheckMvpyAadharAuth. Then verify aadhar page for old age pension bihar online apply 2024 will open.
- Senior citizens can enter district name, block name, aadhaar number, name, date of birth. Then click at the "Validate Aadhaar" button to verify aadhaar.
- You can then click at the "Register New Beneficiary" link to apply for new enrollment in Bihar Mukhyamantri Vridha Pension Yojana. Then the Bihar Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Pension Yojna online registration form 2024 will appear as shown below:-
- Fill in details in Bihar Old Age Pension Scheme online registration form and then print acknowledgement receipt.

- At homepage, elderly citizens can click at "Login" link which is present in header or click at direct link - https://www.sspmis.bihar.gov.in/LoginPage
- On hitting at this link, Bihar Mukhyamantri Vridha Pension Yojana Login opens.
- Note that multiple login is not allowes with same user. If you want to login, need to logout from all other system / browser.
- Next enter Username, Password and click at "Log In" button to make Bihar Vridha Pension Login.
Check SSPMIS Payment Status - Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Pension Yojana Status Online
- First of all, interested citizens can visit official Social Security Pension Management Information System website at https://www.sspmis.bihar.gov.in/
- At homepage, elderly citizens can go to "Beneficiary Status" section and click at "Search Beneficiary Status" link which is present in header.
- You can even click at direct link - https://www.sspmis.bihar.gov.in/CheckBeneficiaryStatus
- Then page to check SSPMIS Payment Status for Vridha Pension will open.
- Enter district name, block name, beneficiary ID and click at "Search" button to check SSPMIS Payment Status.

On successful completion of the Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Pension Yojana apply online registration process, all the senior citizens would be eligible for monthly pension. Amid Coronavirus lockdown, the state govt. has transferred 3 months advance pension into bank accounts of pension beneficiaries through DBT mode.
Eligibility for बिहार मुख्यमंत्री वृद्धजन पेंशन योजना (MVPY)
- Applicant must be permanently residing in Bihar state.
- Only senior citizens above 60 years of age can apply.
- Those elderly citizens who have retired from government services are not eligible.
- Applicants who are already taking benefits of other pension schemes are not eligible.
