About Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana
CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu led Himachal Pradesh govt. has started 1st phase of Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Samman Nidhi Yojana. This scheme is started from Kyelang district of Lahaul. CM himself handed over the cheque to the lady beneficiaries. It is a major step to make women self reliant and to strengthen their socio-economic status.
The state govt. of Himachal Pradesh govt. will extend the benefits of this Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Samman Nidhi Yojana to all eligible women of the state in a phased manner.
Eligibility Criteria for Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Yojana
While mentioning the eligibility criteria, CM said "18 से 59 वर्ष की आयु वाली स्पीति की स्थायी निवासी महिलाएं और बौद्ध भिक्षुणियां (चोमो) योजना के तहत 1,500 रुपये लेने के लिए पात्र होंगी। स्पीति क्षेत्र में करीब 46 फीसदी आबादी महिलाओं की है। इंदिरा गाँधी प्यारी बहना सम्मान निधि योजना की राशि प्रतिमाह बैंक या डाकघर के खाते में दी जाएगी।"

Exclusion Criteria for Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Samman Nidhi Yojna
On the exclusion criteria, CM said "योजना के तहत ऐसी महिलाओं को शामिल नहीं किया जाएगा, जिनके परिवार से कोई सरकारी कर्मचारी या पेंशनर होगा। भूतपूर्व सैनिक व सैनिक विधवाएं, मानदेय प्राप्त आंगनबाड़ी कार्यकर्ता, सहायिका, आशा वर्कर, मिड डे मील वर्कर, मल्टी टास्क वर्कर, सामाजिक सुरक्षा पेंशन लाभार्थी और वस्तु एवं सेवाकर के लिए पंजीकृत व्यक्ति तथा आयकर दाता महिलाओं को भी योजना में शामिल नहीं किया जाएगा।"
"किसी भी लाभार्थी के खिलाफ यदि अपात्र होने की शिकायत प्राप्त होती है तो उसकी आवश्यक जांच तहसील कल्याण अधिकारी की ओर से की जाएगी। ऐसे लाभार्थी की निधि तत्काल कल्याण अधिकारी की ओर से रोक दी जाएगी। जांच पूरी होने के बाद इस बाबत आगामी फैसला लिया जाएगा," CM added.
CM Address on Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Yojana Launch
Chief Minister addressed the locals by saying 'Jule' and said that he was happy to be among them. The Chief Minister also announced to provide Rs 1,500 from 1st February, 2024 to 2.37 lakh women who were receiving pension of Rs 1,100 in the state. In this way, 2.42 lakh women of the state will receive a pension of Rs 1,500 per month. "We do what we say. We have come to extend the benefits of the schemes to the last person standing in the queue and lay the foundation of self-reliant Himachal," remarked Sh. Sukhu.He announced that the schools will remain closed in Lahaul Spiti in winters and the session would be held in summers. He also announced opening of Block Development office in Udaipur, Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School in Darcha, starting of sewerage scheme and water drainage scheme in Keylong, starting a scheme for planned beautification of the city, opening of Public Health Centre in Tindi and a dispensary of Animal Husbandry Department in Madgran. He recalled that the State Government had celebrated the Himachal Day in 2023 at Kaza in Spiti Valley. It was the first time that Himachal Day was celebrated in the District.
Other Welfare Initiatives of Himachal Pradesh Govt
CM said that several development schemes have been introduced in the budget 2024-25 for benefit of various sections of the society. These schemes includes:-- Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Shiksha Yojana - To bear the entire cost of education of children of widows till they attain the age of 27.
- Increase in daily wage of MGNREGA workers from existing Rs. 240 to Rs. 300.
- High Minimum Support Price (MSP) for milk, where the MSP for purchasing cow milk has been fixed at Rs. 45, an increase of Rs. 13 from earlier MSP of Rs. 32.
- MSP for buffalo milk has been fixed at Rs. 55.
- MSP of wheat produced by natural farming has been fixed at Rs. 40 and, similarly, the rate of maize at Rs. 30.
- Four percent dearness allowance and other dues would be paid to the employees in a phased manner.
- The diet money of police has also been increased nearly fivefold from Rs. 210 to Rs. 1000, he added.
- Age of marriage of girls has been increased from 18 years to 21 years.
- Dr. Yashwant Singh Parrmar Vidyarthi Rin (Loan) Yojana to provide loans up to Rs. 20 lakh at one percent interest rate to meritorious students for higher education.
CM said that the present State Government inherited empty coffers from the previous government due to the BJP's poor fiscal management. "Despite this, in the last one year, our government has undertaken various measures under Vyavastha Parivartan to improve the fiscal condition of the state. In the first budget, the government laid the foundation of self-reliant Himachal as we cannot depend on loans and has sought ways to increase the state's revenue," remarked the Chief Minister.
